The Academy's Stories will bring these professionals into focus — through interviews, portraits, and field reports that reveal the knowledge, judgment, and craft behind contemporary art.
These stories are intended to make visible the knowledge usually hidden behind finished exhibitions, collections, and works of art.

We cannot recover the names history has lost. Nor can we know which names it will preserve from our own time.
We can, however, choose to recognize the people whose work shapes the present.
